In June 2023 Liz Derstine backpacked the Swiss Via Alpina, a classic long-distance hike through the Northern Alps of Switzerland in a fastest known time for women. During her time there she found that discovering the most beautiful parts of the country on foot was so much more than a sporting achievement–it was time to put everyday problems in perspective, face self-doubt head on, and experience joy in a new way.

Join Liz this Wednesday, August 16th with AMC - Worcester Chapter as she presents about her trek and shares tips on international hiking and going it alone as a woman at the Third Wednesday Speaker Series! The talk begins at 7pm and will be preceded by a potluck supper. The event is free and you do not need to be an AMC member to attend. The event will be held at Northborough Historical Society, 52 Main St Northborough, MA.
